Please join the China Power Project for the launch of a new report, The New Southbound Policy: Deepening Taiwan's Regional Integration. The report analyzes Taiwan President Tsai Ying-wen's New Southbound Policy (NSP), which seeks to strengthen Taipei’s relationships with the ten countries of ASEAN, six states in South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan), Australia, and New Zealand. The report tracks the ongoing implementation of the NSP and assesses what has been achieved since Tsai’s inauguration in May 2016.

Joining the launch via webcast will be Minister John Deng who is responsible for economic and trade negotiations with foreign governments. Taiwan Representative Stanley Kao will give remarks prior to Minister Deng's keynote address. Expert panelists will explore the findings of the report and discuss the prospects for the NSP’s success.
