Professor Steele teaches classes in architectural history and design, including Contemporary Asian Architecture. He was an Associate Professor at the American Institute of Foreign Study, University of London and at Texas Tech University, College of Architecture. He is a member of the International Association for the Study of Traditional Environments, International Center for Arid and Semi-Arid Land Studies, The British Society of Authors, and The American Research Centre in Egypt.
