China Scholarship Council awards to support undergraduate and graduate study in China (Deadline: May 20, 2010)

New program has a May 20, 2010 application deadline.

The China Scholarship Council supports a wide variety of Chinese-foreign educational exchanges. The Council has just launched a new program in partnership with the Association of American Universities. Students at USC and other members institutions are now eligible to compete for generous scholarships to study at top Chinese institutions. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply. Student proposals leading to the completion of a degree are encouraged but are not required. Here are some program highlights. Additional information is available at the Council websites or by contacting the education office at the Los Angeles Chinese consulate.

Application Deadline: May 20, 2010

Eligibility: Students attending USC and other member institutions of the Association of American Universities

Students may apply for study leading to a degree from a Chinese institution or for study that may aid in completing a USC degree.

Students pursuing undergraduate degrees may be supported for one or more years.

Students pursuing masters or doctoral degrees may be supported for two or three years.

Students requiring language training in advance of formal studies may receive an additional one or two years of support.

Total Number of Awards: 10-15

What the Awards Include: Tuition, fees, dormitory housing, limited medical insurance, and a stipend

What is Not Included: International travel to and from China and travel within China
