The USC U.S. - China Institute aims to enhance understanding of the 21st century’s definitive and multidimensional relationship through
cutting-edge research which
- takes on central trends and issues affecting U.S. – China relations
- utilizes interdisciplinary approaches
- is social science-based and policy-relevant
- involves undergraduate and graduate students
innovative graduate and undergraduate training which
- involves students in producing rather than merely consuming knowledge
- infuses the exploration of important trends and issues affecting the U.S. – China relationship across the curriculum
- includes development of new graduate degree programs and undergraduate minors
extensive and influential public events and professional development efforts including
- organizing major conferences, workshops, and exhibitions
- developing internship opportunities for USC students in business, journalism, health care, and other areas
- providing in-service training for K-12 teachers, journalists, government officials, businesspeople, and others
