Postdoctoral Fellowships: Chinese migration/Diaspora, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (Deadline: Apr 2, 2012)

The College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites applications for up to 11 postdoctoral fellowships for Academic Year 2012.

The College comprises 3 Schools: Humanities and Social Sciences; Art, Design, and Media; and Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. This year, one fellowship will be available at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) in History for:

International Migration with Special Reference to Chinese Interdisciplinary and comparative research on international migration in the modern and contemporary eras, with a focus on Chinese migration. Supervisor: Prof Liu Hong

An additional fellowship will be available at the Centre for Chinese Language and Culture (CCLC), in partnership with HSS, for:

Diasporic Chinese - Education, Literature and Culture Cross-disciplinary research on Chinese education, literature and culture, with an emphasis on Southeast Asia. Supervisors: A/P QUAH Sy Ren, A/P CROSSLAND-GUO Shuyun, Asst/P YOW Chuen Hoe The successful applicant will work closely with the listed faculty supervisors.

Postdoctoral fellowships are for one year, renewable for a second year, subject to satisfactory performance. Postdoctoral fellows may be required to assist in teaching, up to the equivalent of one semester-based course per academic year.
